Consultant JOHN FRICKE is the Emmy Award®-winning co-producer / co-writer of the television programs Judy Garland: By Myself (PBS "American Masters," 2004) and Judy: Beyond the Rainbow (A&E "Biography," 1997). He also is a Grammy® Award nominee for "Best Album Notes" for Judy Garland: 25th Anniversary Retrospective (Capitol Records, 1996).

Widely respected as the preeminent Garland and Oz historian, Fricke is the author of five books about those topics, including The Wizard of Oz: An Illustrated Companion to the Timeless Movie Classic (Fall River Press / Barnes & Noble, 2009). Fricke can be heard on the audio commentary tracks of the Warner Home Video DVDs of Oz, Meet Me in St. Louis, Easter Parade, Babes in Arms, Girl Crazy, For Me and My Gal, and The Pirate, and has more than three dozen additional home video and CD projects to his credit. The latest of these are the deluxe Oz collector's edition Blu-ray DVD set (Warner Home Video, 2009), which includes a 52 page book by Fricke; and the Savoy Jazz CD, Judy Goes Hollywood! Music from the Movies . Fricke has lectured about Oz and Garland in London, at The Deauville Film Festival in France, and from The Museum of Modern Art in New York to The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in Los Angeles.
